REC HIGH ALTITUDE FIRST AID COURSE

January 26th at MOD Corsham - this course was delivered to 6 Joint Services personnel who are leaving for the Annapurna region of Nepal in March. This was an enjoyable course for me and I've delivered this course several times to MOD groups.

Course feedback:

The HAFA course was delivered in a very professional manner and fitting to the wide range of audience.  The instructor was very knowledgeable and experienced so was able to relate the contents to the real time events and case studies. By far one of the best one day course I’ve ever attended - Capt PG

   The course was incredibly valuable prior to our trek and I feel much more prepared and confident in our teams ability to respond to any incident at High Altitude.
   Course material was well presented, easily understood, and the opportunity to have hands on with kit (Portable Altitude Chamber) was great.
   I also thoroughly enjoyed the course being related to actual experiences and hearing how situations have been dealt with successfully.

3. The one day HAFA course was outstanding and Alan's depth of knowledge was also outstanding and throughout his presentation he was relating to his own experiences. His PowerPoint/videos were first class and current. Alan has put a lot of effort into this course which showed in his professional manner in delivering the course to a wide range of audience. His training aids for the course were also first class. I have over 30 years of mountain experience and gained a lot more knowledge from Alan's own personal experiences.                                                         I would fully recommend this course to anyone who is planning or involed in an Overseas Exped and needs up to date advice S/Sgt AN (JSMEL)

   I personally enjoyed hearing about your experiences, which you contextualised on the topics covered, so really enjoyed the course.
   A minor point, the slides esp from Nepal seemed to be from 1990’s which can do with an update to current ones so that it is relevant to present scenarios.

6. I found your course very useful especially the elements on choking!
   The most useful information I thought was the signs and symptoms to look out for so if this could be included on a small leaflet for taking away then that would have been useful.
